Welcome to the Santa Clara County Alliance of Black Educators (SCCABE) Scholarship Program for 2026-2027.

Graduating high school seniors who will be enrolling in college (including community college) or vocational school in Fall 2026 can apply for a scholarship from our organization. Twelve scholarships will be available in the following award amounts: $2,000, $1,500, $1,000, and $500. Please read the following before starting your application. Once you have submitted your application you will not be able to update it. We suggest that you compose your essay question responses outside of the application and then copy the responses into the application. Eligibility

  • Must be a high school senior graduating in Spring 2026 and planning to attend college in Fall 2026

  • Must be of African Ancestry
  • Must attend high school in Santa Clara County
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA (unweighted) for some scholarships; minimum 3.0 GPA (unweighted) for some scholarships

Timeline

  • Applications will be available beginning January 2, 2026.

  • The deadline for submitting applications is February 27, 2026 at 11:59pm. After submitting your application, you will receive an acknowledgement email along with a copy of your application.

  • During the application review process, you will receive an email requesting that you upload your senior photo along with a brief goals statement.

  • Applicants will receive notification of the status of their application by end of March 2026

Required Documents

  • High School Transcript: Request your official high school transcript as soon possible after Fall 2025 grades are available. Your official transcript must be sent by your school to info@sccabe.org. If sending official transcripts electronically is not an option, then your school must send it by U.S. mail to:

    It must be received or postmarked on or before February 27, 2026. If you have obtained your unofficial high school transcript, it is not required but you may choose to upload it to your scholarship application. If you have taken college courses, your college transcript(s) may also be uploaded to your application before it is submitted.

  • FAFSA Submission Summary: Submit your FAFSA as soon as possible. Your FAFSA Submission Summary will have your Student Aid Index (SAI) which must be provided on your scholarship application.

  • Letter of Recommendation: One Letter of Recommendation from a high school teacher, counselor, or administrator (e.g., Principal, Vice Principal) must be provided to support your application. Letters of recommendation must be on official school letterhead. The letter-writer must send the letter directly to info@sccabe.org by February 27, 2026. Letters can be up to 600 words in length.

    The body of the letter should include:

    • Letter-writer’s relationship to the applicant and how long they have known the applicant.
    • Why they recommend the applicant for a SCCABE scholarship.
    • Why they believe the applicant will be successful in their college goals.
    • Any additional information about the applicant they believe should be considered

Receiving a Scholarship

  • You will be notified by email if you are awarded a scholarship. You will need to submit verification of college admission or enrollment before award funds are released. Scholarship payments are mailed after your proof of enrollment has been received. You will be expected to attend our Student Recognition Program event at Santa Clara University on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

  • 3 scholarships in the amount of $2,000
  • 1 scholarship in the amount of $1,500
  • 3 scholarships in the amount of $1,000
  • 5 scholarships in the amount of $500
